Upper GI Cancer Samples

Request Summary:

We are enquiring whether any biobank is able to prospectively collect tissue from Oesophageal/Gastric cancer patients, either primary or metastatic disease. For our assays we require fresh tissue that can either be collected and shipped overnight to the UK or stored in freezing medium prior to shipping.

Sample Type: Fresh solid tissue and, if available, matched blood (1-2mL)/buffy coat

Storage Format: Fresh or frozen in freezing medium

Number of Cases: Up to 20 cases

Pro/Retrospective: Prospective collection

Time Limits: 9 months

Inclusion Criteria:

Primary/metastatic cases
Weight of fresh tissue sample ≥300mg

Exclusion Criteria:

If known, tissue infected with contagious viruses or bacteria (eg. HIV, TB etc)

Age at excision

Extra detail:

Collection vessels, transport medium, freezing medium etc will be provided
