Lewy body pathology in fresh oesophageal or ileal tissue

Request Summary:

According to the literature approximately 40% of patients with Parkinson’s disease will exhibit Lewy body pathology in the enteric neurones in the oesophagus and ileum (fewer in the large bowel).
We would like to culture tissue slices containing Lewy bodies to test for clearance using our therapies.

Sample Type: fresh, chilled, post surgical GI tract material from patients with Parkinson's disease

Pro/Retrospective: prospective because fresh

Time Limits: 1 year

Inclusion Criteria:

Parkinson's disease only

Exclusion Criteria:

Nil

Clinical Data Required:

Clinical Parkinson's disease
